What is the Summer Math Training Camp?
The Next Level Math Tutoring Summer Math Training Camp is an annual, flexible scheduling summer tutoring program for grade school students 2nd grade and up designed to review, reteach, and introduce the math skills appropriate for each student's upcoming grade level and keep a child's math skills fresh throughout the summer into the upcoming fall semester. Although it was originally designed by our founder as a one-on-one concept, the Training Camp can also be done with small groups of two or more to achieve a similar impact at a more affordable price per student.
Do you have a child who struggled with math this past school year? The Summer Math Training Camp will fill skill gaps for your child that are hard to address during the school year to catch up and build a better foundation for future success.
Does your child already make decent grades in math? The Summer Math Training Camp will provide next level (pun intended) reinforcement of existing math skills and introduce new concepts for the upcoming grade once any prerequisite skills are mastered (see testimonials below).
Do you want to better prepare your high school student for the ACT? The Summer Math Training Camp is a great opportunity to provide that specialized help without having to compete with the demands of a full academic and extracurricular schedule. It has helped four students improve their math subject area scores by four points within the last seven years.

The summer tutoring worked! My daughter has made A’s and B’s so far. She keeps saying, ‘Momma we reviewed that this summer!’
I thought all hope was gone until I enrolled my son in the 7th grade math summer program. Now that school has started, my son loves to ask questions, he currently has a B+ average for this first 9 weeks, he’s motivated about math.
My daughter was enrolled in this summer program for ACT Math prep and it helped her immensely. She scored 3 points higher on the math portion of the ACT.

Who can participate?
Any student entering grades 2-12 may participate. High school students, preferably those who have completed Geometry, may sign up for an option with a greater focus towards preparing for the ACT Math test.
Where will it take place?
Sessions will take place over Google Meet, which allows for ultimate flexibility. Anywhere with a good internet connection and few distractions will be good to go! Those doing the ACT prep option and local to the Monroe, LA area will be hand-delivered their materials prior to the virtual sessions, while those outside the area would need to purchase a matching Official ACT prep book.
What is the schedule? My child has other commitments and trips planned over the summer.
Our summer tutoring was designed with customer flexibility in mind. You are able to decide the total amount of time you want to commit to and choose from the days and times available. You can schedule your individual sessions to be for 1 or 1.5 hours to fulfill your time. We recommend at least 12 hours total for the best impact, but you may purchase 6, 12, or 18 hour bundles depending upon your schedule, budget, and child’s needs. If a lump sum payment is not feasible, you can buy multiple 6 hour bundles to fulfill a 12 or 18 hour training camp in separate payments. However, larger bundles have a cheaper hourly rate.
For the standard training camp, we recommend scheduling at least two sessions weekly between mid/late June and mid August, being mindful to plan around the other summer commitments that you and your child have. You can schedule as you go or as far in advance as you'd like and reschedule if needed. Any purchased time MUST be used by August 20th, 2023 and will not roll over to the fall semester.
What if I want to do the ACT Math option for a child who hasn’t taken Geometry yet?
You may still exercise that option, but please be aware that the ACT Math test will have a lot of content that your child has not been exposed to yet, which would lead to test prep not being as impactful as it could be. From our experience, a focus on foundational math skills for that student’s respective grade level will likely help more with math standardized tests down the line. That said, we try to incorporate ACT and LEAP practice questions & test taking strategies into our middle school, Algebra I, and Geometry training camps when applicable.
What are the ACT test dates for this summer?
The ACT Dates for the summer of 2023 are June 10th and July 15th. If you want to sign your child up for our ACT Math coaching, please consider registering for at least one of these dates and scheduling your tutoring time leading up to these dates accordingly.
I have more than one child I would like to enroll in the training camp. How would that work?
You may split the Summer Math Training Camp bundles listed at the bottom of this page between more than one child in your household as you see fit. For instance, you can split the 12 hour bundle by using 8 hours on your 6th grader who struggled with math and 4 hours on your 9th grader who has been strong in math, but just needs a little refresher a couple weeks before school starts. If your child has a sibling or friends in the same grade and you would like to set up group sessions, contact us for a quote.
